FreshGrass | Bentonville is a two-day, family-friendly music festival celebrating today’s bluegrass and roots music, making its debut at the Momentary. Legends will share the stage under the canopy on the Momentary Green and throughout the Momentary with promising newcomers and FreshGrass discoveries in a foot-stomping, fun-filled weekend of bluegrass and roots music and culture.
FreshGrass will feature Alison Krauss, Old Crow Medicine Show, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan & Noam Pikelny, Alison Brown, Ruthie Foster, Flor de Toloache, Leyla McCalla, Smokey and the Mirror, and Old Salt Union, A tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe with Felicia Collins, and The Ozark Highballers, with more than 25 bands in all.
Music performances will be accompanied by festival events that celebrate the culture around bluegrass and roots music, including workshops, legendary late-night jam sessions with professional musicians, a FreshKids area with family-friendly activities, local food favorites, and pop-up performances activating every space of the Momentary.

Can I bring my kids, and do they have to pay?
FreshGrass is a family-friendly event! Children are welcome, and admission is free for those 6 and under with an accompanying adult. There is a reduced price for kids ages 7—16.

What if it rains?
It is a rain or shine event.
What can I bring into the festival?
Please be sure to have a valid photo ID with you. You are welcome to bring empty water bottles, blankets, and folding chairs. Leave your cigarettes, e-cigs, or vape pens at home. The event is non-smoking. No firearms or weapons of any kind are allowed at the festival.
Can I share my festival pass with my friends?
Your festival pass is for you and you only. It is not to be transferred between different people attending different days. If you or your friends are looking to come for just one day of the festival, we recommend purchasing a single-day pass.
What are FreshScores?
FreshScores is a film and live music event commissioned by the FreshGrass Foundation to pair original music with enlivened silent films. Artists coming to Bentonville for FreshScores includes Leyla McCalla, Alison Brown, and Smokey and the Mirror.
What is FreshGrass Awards?
FreshGrass Awards is a music contest for unsigned talent judged by industry professionals, featuring up to $30,000 in cash prizes and recording time at Compass Records’ studio in Nashville for the winners. The award categories include guitar and duo. Six finalists, three in each category, travel to the festival to perform in front of a jury and a live audience. All finalists will perform throughout the weekend on pop-up stages and in the galleries. More information about FreshGrass Awards can be found here.
What is the FreshGrass Foundation?
The FreshGrass Foundation is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to preserving, promoting and creating innovative grassroots music.
