Courtyard Sessions | Jeron Marshall with the Jake Hertzog Trio
Forget streaming—we all know the best way to find new music is to hear it live. That’s why we decided to help bring some of the best new artists in Northwest Arkansas to you.
Come chill with us at the Arvest Bank Courtyard every Sunday afternoon this summer and discover your new favorite jams in this free, outdoor music series. From funk and soul breaks to immaculate LatinX harmonies, the best up-and-coming femme DJs to road-tested troubadours, every week will have you diving deeper with (and maybe ordering a round for) the rising stars all around us. Plus, with the RØDE Bar and the Momentary Food Truck just steps away, you’ll have access to some of the best brews and bites in town.
This week’s sessions start off with the jazz grooves of the Jake Hertzog Trio. Complex, inspired, and just plain cool, Jake’s guitar chops promise to turn the Momentary into your own private jazz club. Then, keep the beat going with the soulful R&B of Jeron Marshall. Dripping with style and full of heart, Jeron’s masterful voice proves that some people are just born to make music.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Jeron Marshall
Many artists struggle to establish their musical identity, laboriously trying on different musical styles like a piece of clothing, looking to find what fits. But there are others that emerge fully formed, in full command of their craft, their identity, and their music. Jeron Marshall fits the latter category. Her new album, First Date, is available on all digital outlets. The album is a musical journey through the eyes of her love, her life, and the lessons she’s learned so far. She is currently working on her second album, which is untitled right now as she listens for the sound(s) that speak to her.
Growing up with a gospel background, traveling with her grandmother to conferences and conventions, as well as a father who is a Pastor and musician (yes she is a PK), Jeron has been exposed to musical arts as long as she can remember.
She started her own band and got busy. Since then she has performed in and out of Arkansas. Jeron is also the lead singer for Funk Factory, a band based in Northwest Arkansas. Locally she’s headlined at Ernie Biggs, Willy D’s and was also the official entertainment for the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame for 3 consecutive years. Jeron has also opened for such amazing artists as Dorinda Clark Cole, Jazmine Sullivan, SILK, En Vogue, Glenn Jones, Michael Cooper, Monica, Maze ft. Frankie Beverly to name a few. Although it’s such a diverse and somewhat lengthy list, a few of her musical influences are Jill Scott, Nina Samone, Billie Holiday, Patti Labelle, Kim Burrell, Anthony Hamilton, and D’Angelo.
