Retro Hand Lettering Workshop
Explore the bright, bold world of supermarket and shopping‑center sings in this hands‑on painting workshop inspired by exhibitions from Chuck Ramirez and Lucy Sparrow. Teens and adults will learn how everyday commercial graphics, sale signs, product tags, and storefront messages can become works of art.
Participants will design and hand‑paint a personal message onto a mirrored backing, experimenting with color, lettering, and layout to create an artwork that’s both reflective and expressive. With approachable techniques and plenty of room for creativity, this workshop shows how ordinary visual language can be transformed into something vibrant, personal, and an artful addition to your home.

No prior experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Workshop is designed for adults 14+.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Olivia Trimble is a 2nd generation sign painter and muralist living in the Arkansas Ozarks. Her murals are often hand painted versions quilts, or positive calls to action for the viewer. Olivia has worked as a visiting artist instructor at the University of Arkansas School of Art, production designer of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the Arkansas Folklife Festival, and regularly partners with cities and community focused organizations
