ABOUT THE CHEF
Fernando Castillo
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.
With more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Fernando began his Culinary career at the age of 20 years old when he moved from his hometown in Puebla, Mexico to New York City in 2001. Hospitality-focused, dedicated to excellence, and highly knowledgeable are just a few terms most often used to describe Fernando.
Fernando built a career in hospitality, working in many kitchen positions, from server and Chef de Partie to ultimately the role of Chef de Cuisine of a fine dining establishment in Fayetteville Arkansas.
The skills he gained working side by side with some of the best chefs in New York City allowed him to make his jump to Chef de Cuisine at Theo’s Fayetteville in 2007. Fernando’s hunger for growth led him to open his first business, Chuzos Sabor Latino food truck in 2023, followed by the brick-and-mortar restaurant Calle Latin Cuisine in 2024, both featuring an inspired Latin American menu.
