BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The Momentary today announced seven concerts as part of its 2024 Live on the Green series. The lineup of renowned artists includes Jon Batiste (April 23), Portugal. The Man (July 6), Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (July 14), Lake Street Dive (July 17), deadmau5 (August 24), Kaskade (September 27), and a special solo performance from 12-time Grammy winner John Legend (June 1). More acts will be announced in the coming weeks, as the Momentary expects to double the number of Live on the Green shows this year.
“Music lies at the heart of the Momentary,” said Jill Wagar, director of the Momentary. “Northwest Arkansas has garnered acclaim for its remarkable visual arts scene, and with the Momentary emerging as a leading concert venue, we’re poised to earn a reputation for outstanding music as well. Our efforts are significantly shaping the region, and our annual Live on the Green concert series plays a key role in this transformation.”
Taking place on the Momentary’s sprawling green lawn, the 2024 series will kick off with multi-Grammy and Oscar winner Jon Batiste, who served as the bandleader and musical director of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on CBS. An alumnus of the world-renowned Juilliard School in New York City, Batiste also composed and performed music for the Disney/Pixar film “Soul,” for which he won an Academy Award for Best Original Score.
Much like Batiste, many Live on the Green artists are visiting Bentonville as a stop on their national tours, including Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, who is embarking on a farewell tour after nearly six decades of entertaining audiences with their multiplatinum country and Americana hits. Kaskade, who will take the stage on September 27, recently became the first-ever in-game DJ at the Super Bowl – this year’s game was watched by more than 123 million viewers. Kaskade is also credited with being the first DJ to secure an exclusive Las Vegas residency back in 2010.
Since 2022, Live on the Green has hosted a variety of notable artists, including Grammy-Award winning hip-hop pioneers The Roots, legendary country performers Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt, indie pop sensation Japanese Breakfast, Grammy Award-winning rock band Wilco, and one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time, Wu-Tang Clan. With a wide range of food vendors, the series also supports local businesses while promoting Bentonville’s consistently growing arts and food communities.
In addition to Live on the Green, the Momentary is also home to a robust indoor music series and FreshGrass|Bentonville, which returns this May with performances by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Trampled by Turtles, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Valerie June, and more. After undergoing an extensive refresh in 2023, the space will only continue to ramp up its offerings – in addition to live music, community members can enjoy a consistent selection of artist talks, DJ sets, dance parties, cocktail demos, and more.
Tickets for all Live on the Green shows can be purchased at the Momentary website, which also has the most up to date information on future concert announcements. Members of the Momentary and students receive special prices for select shows.
Live on the Green, presented on the Coca-Cola Stage, is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company and Cox Communications. For more information visit theMomentary.org.
