“Feels Like Home”: Why François K Is Anticipating His Return to the Momentary
EDM lovers, you don’t want to miss this. On March 8, French-born and US-based DJ, producer, and remixer François K will return to the Momentary for the Official Momentous Pre-Party, alongside Dombrance, DJ Girlfriend, Discolypso Crew, and Samir Chatterjee and the Chhandayan Indian Ensemble. This unforgettable show will be François’s third performance in Bentonville after playing two years in a row at FORMAT Festival.
In an interview with Hip Hop Hello, François revealed that the Momentary was a venue he was “chomping at the bit” to return to. Naturally, after 50 years of building his career as a DJ, François K has seen his fair share of venues and performance spaces. But the first time he walked into the RØDE House, he said, “My jaw dropped, and I felt like I was home.”
François admired the thoughtfulness and sense of purpose in the RØDE House’s design and sound system, saying, “This is the kind of environment that I thrive to be involved with because, obviously, whoever built it, they’re up to a standard of quality that is kind of very rare. I truly, truly appreciate that.”
During François’s performance at the Official Momentous Pre-Party, you’ll get the opportunity to connect with him as he utilizes the surround sound in the RØDE House to create a sonic bridge between the past and future. On his return to the Momentary, François said he’s hopeful that ongoing audio upgrades and other improvements within the performance space will “make the experience more meaningful and powerful.”
When asked more about his set at the Official Momentous Pre-Party, he told Hip Hop Hello, “I think there’s going to be some very interesting collaborations that are going to be done partly in surround sound in the RØDE House, where we’ll be taking advantage of the incredible immersive capabilities of that sound system.”
Specifically, François anticipates working with Samir Chatterjee and the Chhandayan Indian Ensemble to create a collaborative sound experience as the artists transition between their respective DJ sets.
“It’s going to be one of those moments where, hopefully, people understand that music has no boundaries,” Francois said about the can’t-miss Pre-Party collaborations.
Momentous, a one-day EDM festival on the Momentary grounds, will take place on March 9. The lineup includes renowned EDM artists such as Dirtwire, Mura Masa, One Hundred Drums, and many more.
