Fabric Dyeing Class with Esteban Cabeza de Baca and Heidi Howard

Take a fabric dyeing class with artist Esteban Cabeza de Baca and his collaborator Heidi Howard inside the artist’s exhibition, Let Earth Breathe, currently on view.

Participants are invited to hand-dye fabric with indigo—a natural, plant-based dye found throughout the exhibition. You’ll learn how to apply techniques honed by the artist in his practice and receive step-by-step guidance to help you bring your own creative visions to life.

To participate, you will need to bring new or gently worn clothing or fabric to upcycle through this natural dyeing process. Dyeable fabrics are not included with registration.

Safety is our top priority. Full COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test within 72 hours (3 days) will be required for all attendees of this event. Digital or printed proof must be shown upon entry alongside a valid photo ID. At-home COVID-19 tests will not be accepted.

Per current CDC guidelines, face coverings are optional for all visitors and attendees of this event.
